Charm L. Smith

Charm L. Smith is an Education Program Specialist at the US Department of Education.  A former educator of the Deaf, Charm holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Gallaudet University and a master's degree from Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College).  She is currently completing her dissertation at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in English Education with a specialization in Second Language Acquisition.

She is involved with various organizations, including the Maryland Association for the Deaf, the National Association of the Deaf, the Kennedy Center, among others.

She is a sports nut and she bleeds navy blue and silver for Dallas Cowboys.   Also, she is a die-hard animal lover.  Most importantly, she is an avid reader and has a special affinity for Classic Literature, especially William Faulkner.
