Greetings, NTC Participants:

As Job Fair Coordinator for the 2005 National Training Conference (NTC) on Employment of Government Employees Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, I would like to give you notice of our upcoming conference so that you do not miss the opportunity to participate.

The National Training Conference is sponsored by the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Government (DHHIG), a nonprofit organization, and this year's conference theme is “Think. Act. Lead”. Each year the conference planners aim to provide this opportunity to promote professional growth and diversity within the government by introducing workshops on technology, training, networking and alternative communication opportunities.

This year’s conference offers a three-day training that consists of panel discussions, workshops and inspirational keynote speakers. The 2005 NTC will be held on May 9-11, 2005, on the campus of the George Washington University (GWU) at the Cafritz Conference Center in Washington, D.C. A job fair will run concurrent with conference activities for participants who are current and prospective government employees. We expect about 750 participants during the three days.

If you join us at the NTC Job Fair this year, your agency could increase the number of persons with disabilities on the personnel roster. We encourage you to come, talk with qualified deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals to work for your agency. Our organization is founded on the principle of proactive self-help, and we encourage our members to actively seek career advancement.

The cost of participating in the job fair is minimal. If you bring your own sign language interpreter or a proficient signer at your booth, the cost is $200 for one day, $225 for two days, or $250 for three days. Without an interpreter (the conference coordinators will provide one), the cost is $250 for one day, $275 for two days, and $300 for three days. One 3’x 5’ table will be provided for each agency. Space is limited, so we encourage you to fill out the form (now sold out) to reserve a booth early and to let us know in advance if you will need interpreting services. When we receive your registration form for the job fair, we will send you a confirmation letter that will include additional information, such as transportation options, facility address and your table assignment.

If you would like to attend workshops offered at the conference while you participate at the job fair, you will need to register for the conference as a workshop participant. We recommend that you register online as early as you can. Please visit the conference Website at http://www.dhhig.org/ntc to register or for additional information. If you have questions specific to the job fair, please contact Felece Gelb Steele at Steele.Felece@pbgc.gov or call 202-326-4071 (TTY) or 202-326-4100 Ext. 4275 (Voicemail). Please print, complete and fax your completed form, which is available on the conference Website, to Felece Gelb Steele’s attention at 202-326-4141.

We look forward to having you join us this year. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Felece Gelb Steele
